Asian Games 2010 - With fortune and 10 Man to the quarter finals (News)
Topic: Thailand U23
With fortune Thailand under-23 advanced to the quarter finals of the 2010 Asian Games. Although it was a deserved win even though Robson's men had to go into overtime. Next stop Japan.

The last match before the knock out stage ended in a disappointing draw against Maldives. Robson rested some key players and for the match against Turkmenistan they were all back in the line up. However Kawin Thamsatchanan and Polawat Wangkahart have been missed. During practice the day before the match Kawin was injured. He will be missed for the rest of the tournament and it is reported that he will be out for the next three months. That means that Thailands number one goalkeeper will be out for the AFF Suzuki Cup and unfortunately he will not be able to make his trial with Manchester United.

Asian Games 2010 - disappointing draw against Oman (News)
Topic: Thailand U23
The second group match against Oman resulted in a disappointing draw for Thailands U23. Nevertheless their chances to advance to the next round is still good and they have it in own hand.

Sure, a draw against Oman doesn't need to be a disappointment. However, under the circumstances from yesterdays match, Thailand could and should have come away with a win. Oman was reduced to 10 in the 20 minute. Mohamed Jaber, the last man in that situation, tangled with Teerasil Dangda, and the Thai went down. 8-2 corners and 6-1 shots on goals are underline the dominance of the Thais during the match. Until the send off, the best chance came from Wichaya Dechmitr on Thai side. His free kick was tipped over the bar.

Asian Games 2010 - sixpack for Pakistan (News)
Topic: Thailand U23
Presents were handed out today during the initial start of Thailands under 23 Asian Game campaign. It was a sixpack the Thais handed over to their opponents from Pakistan. The last time Thailand scored 6 goals in a Asian Game match was back in 1986 and the opponent was...right Pakistan. Thailand legendary goal scorer Piyapong Pue-on scored a hat-trick at that time.

In todays game there was no hat-trick to be seen, but nice goals and nice movements. Thailand star midfielder Datsakorn Thonglao lead the bunch as skipper on the pitch. Until he was replaced by Kabfah Boonmatoon in the second half he showed a great performance and was a good captain of the team. Just a few minutes in the game, Pakistan was the first side to have a chance for a goal. However, more or less it was one out of just a few. Right after that Rosbons Eleven started to control and dominate the game till the final whistle blown.

Topic: Thailand U23

Three veterans

The football tournament of the XVI Asian Games will be kick off today. Thailand national team under the reign of Bryan Robson will face Pakistan in the first match of group F.

Since 26 October Robsons 27-man squad was called into training camp. However only 10 man appeared to that date. Due to Cup duties with their respective clubs, the remaining bunch just showed up on 1st of November. On Friday the 5fth finally everybody went off to China. That means, as same as a few weeks ago when the U19 squad went off to China, only one day of rest and to acclimate for the lads. Well, we just have to face Pakistan, Oman and Maldives in group stage. But is that the right strategy to prepare for a tournament proper? To fit into the cold wether of Guangzhou?
