Another derby win for Chonburi, a washed away big match and BEC-Tero in search of a new boss on the touchline. Our wrap up of matchday 23.

The sold out and eagerly awaited top match between Muang Thong and Buriram United was supposed to take place on Saturday. But literally was washed away after five hours of continuous rain. Even worlds best drainage system would have had its problems here. Hence the game had to be called off. In accordance with the rules set by the league, the game saw its kick off, finally 24 hours later with ugly clouds over the venue. After only six minutes of play the guests from Buriram took the lead. "Super Mario" Gjurovski tried to play a little bit too much 'Tiki-Taka' in the midfield, resulting in a soft tackle by teammate Mongkol Namnuad on the opposing player. Suchao Nuchnum lifted the given free kick perfectly to Frank Acheampong who eventually scored with a header. Fans of Muang Thong had to wait for nearly 30 minutes till they could see their side becoming dangerous. It was Teerasil Dangda taking a shoot from within the box, but hit the bar only.

Thai Pemier League: Esan United face points deduction (News)
Topic: Thai League 1
Esan United currently ranks seven in Thai Premier League and from sporting point of view is in fairly shallow water. But trouble is looming from different angels. Not only the fact that the fans of Sisaket FC just recently have submitted a letter to the Committee of the Ministry of Sports against the move to Ubon Ratchathani, the club is also facing points deduction.

On 14 August Thai FA received a letter from FIFA (on which thai-fussball.com had a look on), with the request to forward it to Esan United. In it the club, respectively Sisaket, is urged to transfer 485,000 Baht to an account in Switzerland within 30 days. If the club ignores the deadline, a six point deduction is to apply according to article 64 paragraph 1 c) of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. If still nothing happens, subsequently, this can lead to an enforced relegation and in the worst case lead to an exclusion of the FA from all world competitions. But, what is it about?

After long time Samut Songkhram leaves the relegation ranks, Chonburi ends his unwanted record, Buriram United celebrates his highest win at home. Our wrap up of matchday 22.

Since Somchai Chuayboonchum has returned to Samut Songkhrahm FC the situation improved steadily. After beating Osotspa 1-0 away, an almost typical result under his management, Samut have left the relegation zone for the first time since matchday seven. Homecomer Bireme Diouf, on loan from Chonburi, provided the winner with his 4th goal of season while the hosts were not able to build on a furious 4-0 win over BEC Tero during midweek. This time the new entries Lazarus Kaimbi and Tangeni Shipahu (both national strikers of Namibia), and both scoring three of the four goals against Tero, could not make it on the scoreboard.

From "i-mobile Stadium" to "Trolli Arena", from Thundercastle to the Cloverleaves. As it has been confirmed by Buriram United on Sunday, Cameroon striker Frank Ohandza moves to Germany's Bundesliga.

Despite a 7-2 success over Chainat last Saturday, the season of defending champion Buriram United is not going nicely. One reason might be the double load of domestic league and AFC Champions League and the missing of injured striker Frank Ohandza. Latter now moving to newly promoted Bundesliga side Greuther Fuerth. Reportedly the striker is heading to Franconia on an one year loan deal worth 400,000 Euro lending fee, although still being injured for two more month. If his new club is satisfied with him and want's to get him under permanent contract, in addition 100,000 Euro are payable.
