Thailand's early exit at group stage of the recently finished AFC U16 Asian Championship may have several reasons. With certainty one of them are the absence of youth leagues in Thailand with competition throughout the year.

The subject around the introduction of one or more youth leagues for club teams of the first three leagues in Thailand, which is indispensable for the further development of the football in the country is no new one. We have reported several times on the topic of youth football and just recently spoke with U16 national coach Leones about. This week, news reached us unexpectedly, that concerning of a competition for young talents things taking shape for real. Less unexpectedly the fact that an interest group particularly consisting of clubs, have become active from itself.

Sven-Goran Eriksson appointed in new role (News)
Topic: Thai League 1Sven-Göran Eriksson

Sven-Goran Eriksson

As expected, Sven-Goran Eriksson was officially introduced this Monday at BEC Tero Sasana. Though not as head coach like most of us believed on Sunday. Merely as technical manager.

The news that the Swede is ready for a collaboration with BEC Tero, perhaps, even as a boss on the sideline and on the training pitch electrified parts of the football fans in Thailand on Sunday. It smelts of sensation. The greater the disappointment and disillusion after the press conference this Monday. The former England manager has not been appointed as a new coach, too many expected. No, at the end it is only the job of the technical director.

BEC Tero: Sven-Goran Eriksson to become new head coach? (News)
Topic: Thai League 1Sven-Göran Eriksson

Sven-Goran Eriksson

A fortnight ago Andrew Ord was released from his duties as BEC Tero Sasana coach. In search of a new man on the sideline the club seems to have made a find in well-known Sven-Goran Eriksson.

What have spread as a rumor first this weekend, seems to be certainty meantime. The well-travelled Swede Sven-Göran Eriksson is to be appointed new head coach of Thai Premier League club BEC Tero Sasana. It is scheduled to introduce him on Monday officially. Andrew Ord who saw himself promoted from youth to senior side coaching by manager Robert Procureur at the beginning of the season, has been relieved from office two weeks ago to become academy director. Of course the name Rene Desaeyere was traded immediately as his successor with whom the Tero manager won the championship with Muang Thong in 2010. And also Jose Alves Bervis, who coached TTM in 2004 to winning the Thai Premier League was in the rumor mill.

Plenty of goals at the two big games, Pattaya United finally finding himself in relegation battle, and goal premiere for Mark Burchill. Our round the league wrap up of matchday 24.

There were plenty of goals to cheer for at both top matches on round 24 of the TPL. And Buriram and Bangkok Glass have break the ground on Saturday. Five goals in a totally mad first half, especially during the last 15 minutes, have marked the final scoreline of 3-2 at the same time. A first moment of shock for Buriram United already after five minutes. Sarun Promkaew took a shot from the edge of the box, just passing the surprised goalkeeper but hitting the post only. Sivaruk in the goal definitely would have been without chance. The rebound felt to Leesaw but he could not control the ball. After Suchao Nuchnum brought his side in front hammering one home after 20 minutes, one could be inclined to accept the home is going to win in an usual easy way. Though not this season. Ten minutes were to play for the half time whistle and things went quickly.

Rien ne va plus - Mid-season transfers overview (News)
Topic: Thai League 1
Rien va plus - No more bets, please! The transfer window for the season 2012 is finally closed. For more than nearly two months all clubs of the TPL and Division One had the opportunity to add new players for the second half of the season or get rid of some. We summarise the most important transfers of Thailand's top league.

The biggest name listed during the recent transfer period without doubt, was Alessandro del Piero. Muang Thong United approached the superstar and made him an offer which would have broken any record in Thailand. The Italian indeed payed attantion to the offer of five million Euros per year, however, he apparently have hoped to find a club in Americas MLS. Another offer from China, he rejected. Shortly before transfer window in Thailand closing and after Muang Thong, in Paulo Rangel and Edivaldo Hermoza, have put two new foreign players under contract, the former Juve was interested in a further round of negotiations. Thus at least reported by Muang Thong's breviary "Siam Keela". And at current stage, Fenomeno Vero is looking for a new club.
