Sold-out semi final

[update] The 1st leg of the semi-final tie between the Philippines and Thailand on 6 December was not even kicked off, there was it announced that the return fixture in Bangkok is sold-out. And it took only three days.

On last week Monday tickets went to advance sale via Thai Ticket Major and while the North-Stand was reported sold-out on Tuesday morning, in the evening almost all other stands were sold-out too. The remaining tickets eventually were sold within Wednesday.

Two years have passed very fast and so here we are again. ASEAN's biennial premier tournament, the AFF Suzuki Cup is back with its tenth edition.

As usual, if the AFF Suzuki Cup is on, we take a close look at both groups. This time, however, with support of some experts and Blogger. After Group A, it's time for Group B. The "group of the death" of the 2014 edition consists of titleholder and 4-time winner Singapore, 3-time winner Thailand, one-timer Malaysia and underdog Myanmar.

Two years have passed very fast and so here we are again. ASEAN's biennial premier tournament, the AFF Suzuki Cup is back with its tenth edition.


As usual, if the AFF Suzuki Cup is on, we take a close look at both groups. This time, however, with support of some experts and Blogger. We want to start with Group A, and Vietnam which is co-hosting the regions premier tournament for the 4th time and could win the title in 2008. Beside the winner of 2008, the Philippines, Indonesia and Laos fighting for a place in the semi-finals.

When Thailand and Singapore to meet on this Wednesday and Saturday, this is not only simply a final. It is more. It is about whom is the real powerhouse in the region, who will be the first to win his fourth title and it will be a last hurray for a great striker and coach.

Up to now both teams have only met on four occasions during the course of a ASEAN Championship. With the last meeting in the final in 2007 it came to two memorable matches. The first leg took place in the old national stadium of  Singapore, in front of, would you believe 55,000 spectators, and resulted in 2-1 win for the hosting side. The memorable of the game: 82 minutes played and Singapore got a penalty kick which definitely wasn't one.

It's a wrap! For the first time after 2008 Thailand made it to the final of the ASEAN Championship. With a good, superb and dominant display, Thailand eliminated defending champion Malaysia.

With the final whistle of the of the game a bold and bright 2-0 gleamed of the scoreboard in a full Supachalasai, and Teerasil Dangda and Theeraton Bunmathan were the heroes of the evening. All in all a well earned win, with no doubt. Provided that one was either neutrally, or with the Thais. The Malaysian fans could not really enjoy a gala display of theirs Eleven and "rushed" over the official from South Korea, Lee Min-Hu. In the 44th minute he was sending Fadhli Shas off the pitch after a second yellow.
