After the AFF Cup kicked off yesterday with the matches of group A, today it was the turn of group B. As we had a closer look at the Thai group a few days ago, we now like to look at the other one.

Alongside the Indonesia and Thailand the two favourites of group A, we can find two more in this group. Those are Vietnam and Singapore. While Vietnam, is the defending champion of this tournament, Singapore together with Thailand won the title three times. Philippines and Myanmar are nothing more than underdogs.

In two articles we will take a closer look on each of the two groups at the AFF Suzuki Cup. Today we like to start with group A, in which Thailand is fighting for a semi-final spot.

The group is hosted by Indonesia and the first matches will be played on 1 December. Alongside Thailand they face Malaysia and Laos. Both latter are underdogs with no doubt. However, you shouldn't underestimated Malaysia. So let's start with Thailands northern neighbour.

Thousands, dressed in colours of their respective nations flocking into the stadium. Just a few moments till kick-off, just a few moments till the first goal. A madding crowd, the first flares are burning. Purely goosebumps.

When all those things happen, it can mean only one thing. The ASEAN Championship, officially known as AFF Suzuki Cup, just kicked off. It is the most prestigious and most important tournament in the region of Southeast Asia. Since its inaugural season in 1996, the tournament electrifies the masses. Taking the fact that mostly neighbouring country's playing for pride and glory it does its thing for a heated atmosphere.
