TPL and J-League sign collaboration (News)
Topic: Thai League 1
Japanese J-League, and Thai Premier League have signed an agreement on cooperation. For the TPL, it is the first of this kind while Bangkok Glass FC, is close to sign a similar paper with two J-League clubs.

At the middle of February a strategical agreement was signed in Bangkok between the J-League and the Thai Premier League. Jointly responsible for the successful signing was Yoshiaki Maruyama. Latter played for Chonburi and Thai Port FC. He was very much pleased with the fact that the contract has come about. During his time in Thailand, the country has become his second home, thus the former J-League player revealed. The contract comprises of the following topics.

Since a few month, Stefan Brasas is the goal keeping coach of the Thai national team. Together with Winfried Schafer, he tries to make the impossible, possible. To bring Thailand to the World Cup 2014ô. Stefan's job, to condition the guys between the posts. An exclusive interview with him is giving us insight into his work.

During his active career as goalkeeper Brasas played for German clubs like Werder Bremen and MSV Duisburg. Felix Magath was one of his coaches. Hard to believe but true, Stefan Brasas and Chonburi coach Withaya Laohakul have something in common. Both played for Saarbrucken, although both didn't came across. Haeng was with the German side at the early 1980's while Brasas was there at the early 1990's. With Omnia Nikosia (Cyprus) Stefan won his one and only championship title.

Since 1st of July Winfried Schaefer has been in charge of Thailand's national team. During the training camp in Buriram, we had the opportunity to exclusively interview the 61-year-old German.

For 3 years now Thailand's top league has been booming. In the past Thailand's best used to earn their money abroad, now almost everybody has returned home, and the TPL is one of the best leagues in Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, Thailand's flagship, the national side, went vice versa recently and left many fans in anger. Defeats, especially to Vietnam, or draws against neighbouring Laos gnaw on the pride of Thailand's football fans and are perceived at least as badly as if England would lose to Germany, Scotland and Wales at the same time. Reasons for it may lay deep. Lack of structure in the area of youth development. The FA distinguishes itself with a lack of planning ahead, at least for European understanding, and afterwards the hiring of Bryan Robson appears in not a good light.
