Thailands U19 lost their second match of Group A to Saudi-Arabia by one goal to nill. A late goal smashed all hopes to advance to next round. By far Thailand was the better side and had better chances, but failed to score.

As coach Chalermvud Sangnapol promised before the match, he made a few changes on the starting line-up. Ukrit Wongmeena found his way back into the goal after being not eligible to play the first match. Chayanan Pombuppha from Police United was left off the field and was replaced by Phuket FC striker Chakrit Rawanprakone. At the end of the article you will not only be able to find the line-up of the match, you even will be able to find the whole squad listed including the clubs the lads are playing for.

Thailand were first to threaten as Surachet Ngamtip saw a shot acrobatically tipped over the bar by keeper Abdullah Al Sdairy. Mohammed Majrashi then fired wide at the other end before Adisak Kraisorn spun in the box but his effort was way off target.

A scrappy first-half saw opportunities few and far between but some neat play from Adisak resulted in the forward feeding Chakrit Ravanprakon, who displayed quick feet before his deflected shot was again pushed over by Al Sdairy on the half-hour mark.

Some good interplay just before the break saw Chakrit presented with a clear sight of goal on the edge of the box but the striker fired wastefully over.

Yasir Al Fahmi sent a left-foot shot over the bar eight minutes into the second period before substitute Ibrahim Al Ibrahim came closest to breaking the deadlock for the Saudis, curling a 25-yard free-kick towards the top left corner that a flying Ukrit Wongmeema tipped around the post.

Thailand had a great chance to open the scoring in the 74th minute when the ball broke to Sokjoho Pattana down the left. The forward bore down on goal but his toe poke was blocked at the near post by Al Sdairy.

Majrashi then directed a powerful header wide of the near post after he connected with Al Fahmi's cross following some slick skills down the left flank by the winger with 10 minutes to go before Saudi Arabia took the lead two minutes later.

Yasir Al Shahrani's cross-cum-shot across the six-yard box was blocked but the ball fell to Dagriri and he found the back of the net from close range. The final chance for Thailand came by Sarach Yooyen when he lashed a good chance wide from the edge of the box in stoppage-time as Thailand's exit was confirmed.

The last match against China is meaningless. Sure saying good-bye with a goal at least or even a point would be nice. Chalermvud Sangnapol like to exit on a high note. “For the next game, I don't look at the now, I look to the future of each player,I have 23 players, everybody can play but this last game I want to play at full speed, 100%.” he said.
