Chonburi FC, founded in 2002, is a relatively young club, but one which helped to developed fan culture in Thailand over the last years.

In 2007 the club became the first Thai League champion from outside Bangkok. 10.000 flocked out to the title decider against Krung Thai Bank FC. That time it marked a new league record.

Since winning the title in 2007, Chonburi is chasing for a second one, but primarily finishing the league in second place since.

However the club has an unbeaten record with the "Kor Royal Cup - so the say the Super Cup or Charity Shield Cup and has won the Thai FA Cup final in 2010 by beating Muang Thong United 2-1 after 120 minutes.

In 2012 Chonburi played its third AFC Cup campaign, equal to the "Europa League", eventually get beaten by Arbil SC (Iraq) in the semi-finals.

2014 the club had all chances to win a double. But squandered the TPL through two draws at the end of the season and losing the Thai FA Cup to Bangkok Glass in the Final a few days later.
