Bangkok FC was founded in 1999 under the name of Bangkok Bravo. As one the view clubs in Thailand the club had its own website. Bangkok Bravo supporters were well known all over the, that time, small group of fans following Thai football. In 2007 the club played it's trade in Thailand's second division and been relegated. Ahead the 2010 season the club was renamed into Bangkok FC and got new crest and club colors.

Under the new name, the club immediately managed to qualify for the play-offs, and eventually got promoted.

After two years in the lower third of the table Bangkok FC were battling for promotion to the TPL until the very last day of the 2013 season but eventually missed out by two points.
