Buriram United had to face it's exit of the Champions League 2012 without own assistance. The game against Guangzhou Evergrande was played for honor.

The initial situation before last round of Group H was very clear. Buriram could only make it to the knock-outs by beating Guangzhou at home. At the same time Thailand's representative had to hope Kashiwa would not beat Jeonbuk. Both cases did not happen. The sad thing overall is the faux pas AFC allowed to happen with robbing the match day of any tension. Just remeber, all teams were separated only by three points. But Jeonbuk against Kashiwa was kicked off 90 minutes before the Buriram Guangzhou encounter. At the time Buriram entered his pitch, Kashiwa already lead by 2-0. After more 15 minutes the Thai side had been eliminated from the Champions League 2012. All quick prayers on the part of Newin did not help.

BEC-Tero against Bangkok Glass, without doubt seemed to be the game to watch of match day 9. Though how it turned out afterwards, it was the match between league leaders Muang Thong and Army United one should not have missed.

A hat-trick from Cleiton Silva sealed Bangkok Glass' first season defeat while BEC-Tero Sasana moved in to second place. The Brazilian Cleiton marked his first goal from the spot, after the referee decided on dangerous play within the box by BGFC keeper Kritsakorn Kerdpol. In the second half Bangkok Glass pushed forward while Tero relied on counters. After 64 minutes Silva hit for the second time and crowned his performance with his third in injury time. BEC-Tero remains a side which can be considered serious candidate on wining the league title. Cleiton Silva looks sharp this season and after nine rounds of play he already is having eight goals on his account and is leading the top-scorer list.

For the first time in this, still young season, a match day stretched from Friday till Monday. Both representatives of Thailand in continental competitions marked the beginning and the end.

Chonburi which had to take on Home United in Singapore on Wednesday, opened TPL's round eight last Friday. However, the guest appearance at Army United and therefore a rehearsal for the so important AFC Cup match, went awry. Army's new signings Lucas Daniel (Sriracha FC) and Daniel Blanco who moved in from Cyprus, were put in the starting eleven for the first time. Though it was Issarapong Lilakorn who produced the highlight of the night, when he was eaten up visitors defense and scored the winning goal short before half time. Thailand's 5th futsal league season has end and saw GH Bank RBAC successfully retaining the tile and, moreover, winning the double. But the leagues future is in doubt.

The end of the national championship marked the end of a rather chaotically run season. In contrast to the football leagues, it was not about league management, which during last 2 years was in the hands of USM (Universal Sports Management). At first the start had to be postponed several months, because one major sponsor was affected by the earthquake in Japan and thereby money was blocked. Afterwards the flood in Thailand hit two of the main venues and causing several match days to be shifted.
